Genesis 6 "Grace"

"That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose." (Genesis 6:2 KJV)

Here we see the first great attempt at destroying the Royal seed, the line through which Jesus would eventually come. These "sons of God" cause much speculation in the church today, but I believe if you would follow the phrase "the sons of God" and "children of God" through the entire Bible, you will see that it always refers to Gods chosen people. These were not angels, as some suppose, but humans in the lineage of God. The "giants" in verse four were "men of renown," known for their ruthlessness, and wickedness, they were "mighty men." The whole gist of the matter was that the godly line might be stopped, mingled with worldliness, which is still the quickest way to kill a church today! Verse five shows us how effective this ploy of the devil was, and becomes the reason for the flood. (V. 6,7)

"But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord" (v. 8) The first mention of "grace" in the Bible. Yes, it preceded the law! Law, in fact, was born in grace, and grew, and spread like the "cedars of Lebanon," until it is fulfilled by Christ, the Anointed Son of God. Noah found grace amid a wicked and perverse generation, not being a part of it himself, while existing in it. What about you dear reader, how do you fair in this old world? Will you find grace with the Lord or find a place with the world? Because Noah "found grace," the godly line continued. See the blessed power of grace? Oh for more of us to "find grace in the eyes of the Lord." God preserves His people against flood, fire, or drought, and, be assured dear Christian, that He will also preserve you in time of need.
