Prove Your Love for God

“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words:

and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine,

but the Father’s which sent me.” -- John 14:23-25

In all of our lives there is often a disconnection between what we say, and profess to believe, with what we actually do. In James 2:18 we read, “shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.” Galatians 5:6 has a phrase that tells us works and rituals can’t save, “but faith which worketh by love” is the only way!

Faith and love can’t be seen: but the resultant actions from them can be seen! James makes it abundantly clear that the best way to show that you have faith is to do things that are consistent with your beliefs, your faith. Paul said a real faith works by love.

When we obey and adhere to the Word of God we are showing that we love the Lord Jesus. This is such a vital command of God! Jesus also said “If ye love me, keep my commandments,” in John 14:15. If a “love investigator” followed you all day, would he conclude that you love others just by observing your actions?

· Ask the Holy Spirit to show you if your works and faith are working together, proving your love for the Lord Jesus.

· Evaluate your actions every day. If someone was following you around today would they see your love for God?
